As an image consultant, the famous quote by Coco Chanel seems more like a mission statement than just a casual motto by a fashion icon. “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.”
Award season is here and it is time for all of the break out celebrities to get themselves noticed and remembered- all because of their fashion choices. A few weeks ago was the 2014 Golden Globe Awards and I was introduced to a few new style icons. There are two ladies that I have not been able to stop thinking about, and from the looks of all of the news stories, web articles and blog posts, I don’t think the media can either! I was absolutely mesmerized by Margot Robbie and her winter white Gucci gown with crystal and emerald embellishments and Lupita Nyong’o in a Ralph Lauren vibrant red off the shoulder caped gown. These two ladies have shaken things up and have really gotten people talking, and even better, wanting to see their movies!
So how does this translate into everyday life? The point is ladies, it is important to make sure to dress in a way that makes your audience remember you for the right reasons. We all want to be noticed for our talents, our personality and our successes. Is your outfit distracting others from seeing the amazing, beautiful you?
