Two things I absolutely LOVE are occurring this week… the beginning of the week marks the end of New York Fashion Week, where all of the most delicious designs for Fall 2014 are revealed, and then we close the week with Valentine’s Day, every hopeless romantic’s favorite day. Both holidays- yes, Fashion Week is a holiday- share a similar idea. Both make (most) girls squirm with excitement over all things that sparkle and both have girls near and far, thinking about what they will wear to the main event.
In the spirit of love and fashion, I have brought to you a few looks that I love for Cupid’s big day!
The first look is an ultra feminine look, fit for the girliest of girls!
I love the all over, monochromatic, pink color scheme. Pastel pink is very on trend this season, and I love it paired with other shades of pink- especially for this day of love! The accessories are kept simple and girlie with a pink gem necklace and thin gold bow belt. This outfit is perfect for date night with your lucky stud, or even for a girls night out for all of you single ladies (but probably ditch the Mr. and Mrs. clutch!) The best part about this outfit- the empire waist cut is a flattering shape for all figures! For those of you in colder temps, top this outfit with a great grey coat. Pink and grey are fabulous together!
For those of you looking for a more casual option, you can never go wrong with a white tee, boyfriend jeans, and a tailored blazer.
I am loving how these leopard flats, scarf and pop of pink in the blazer, create visual interest. If you didn’t already know- leopard is the chicest of all neutrals! The ‘love’ studs and bow bangle add little touches of femininity to this casual outfit. This is a perfect outfit for a daytime date to the winery, brunch with your girlfriends, or even a movie date with your man. To take the outfit into night, swap the flats with a great patent leather pump. The options with this outfit are endless!
The last of the looks is a personal favorite of mine, because it is how I am choosing to style myself for Valentine’s Day- all black with hints of red.
This look is so versatile for so many reasons! First, an all black option is great for those going straight out after work since Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this year. Take this look from day to night by throwing on a red lip and adding an accent bag. Second, the wrap dress is an iconic style that flatters all women. It is light and comfortable, and can also transform with the change of the season. For those of you in chillier areas, pair this outfit with a pair of black tights. Upper 70’s? Ditch the tights and boots and opt for a nice peep toe pump (pedicure please!). And for those of you ladies lucky enough to be whisked away on a trip- the wrap dress is airplane friendly! Comfortable and doesn’t wrinkle easily!
What are you all wearing (or not wearing!) for Valentine’s Day?!
